They look cheap frankly ..... so let's hope they are !!
Canon 600mm F11 ..... as I stated before "retractable" ..... 199.5m vs 260.7mm ..... of the G2. .... no stated length extended.
4.5 mts MFD is another disappointment ...... max mag. 0.14X ... rules out most insect photography .....

MFD 2.2 mts ...... max. mag. 1:39X ... great for butterflies etc.
Weight is significantly different : 930 gms the Canon .... 1.830 kgs the G2 without hood and tripod foot (as shown by the Canon image)
The 800mm F11 ........
.......seems a more realistic proposition and has an MFD of 6 mts with a max mag of 0.14X ...... not great either but there's no other alternative in the light weight division ....
It's a pity Canon missed the MFD trick ......... making the lenses a one trick pony .........
