Yes, I remember it. In fact, all those UWAs with huge bulb front elements seem to show similarly severe flare. Of the three I tested (Nikon 14-24, Tokina 16-28 and Tamron 15-30) I actually liked the Tamron the most, since it combined UWA with a stabilizer.

I am really curious how the new Z 14-24 performs, I haven't handled that one so far.
