I suspect that OM-D specifies the "viewfinder" series only.

To all those that say the K-01 is the ugliest camera, now be quiet <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> Seriously.

That is my understanding as well. The OM-D series will feature a build in finder, similar to the Lumix G/GH line, while the Pen line has none build in, similar to the Lumix GF/GX line. The model is named e-m5, according to the rumour mills.

Right now, I think wait and see. I would have preferred a finder at the side, similar to the Sony. But Olympus tried that a few years ago with the E-300 line of DSLR cameras and it wasn't accepted by the market back then (I still own my E-300). So I can't really blame Olympus here.

Judging from the pictures available now, I am not sold yet on the design, but like to reserve judgement until more details are available. Would like to see what it looks like without the battery grips (it seems to have two grips added). The hot-shoe seems a bit large/prominent, but judging from http://forum.olympusclub.pl/attachment.php?attachmentid=59486&d=1328273704 this might just be a design constraint based on how small it actually is. There seems to be a connector underneath the hot-shoe, judging from http://www.43rumors.com/ft5-new-e-m5-images/. Most like for microphones, blue-tooth etc. So there might just be to many design constraints to come up with a elegant solution. I am disappointed that there is no dial around the lens mount, like with the original OM-1. That would have been cool and judging from the current E-PL3 and E-PM1 there is space in the mount design to do it. A lost opportunity in my view.

That zoom lens doesn't look nice on the camera, but no camera with a standard zoom looks nice in my view). Fitted with a m.Zuiko 12/2 this might actually be quite different. Is that screen 4:3 ratio or 16:9 like on the small Pens?

Price is rumoured to be €1100, so compared to an E-P3 with VF-2 this one seems reasonable from the point.

Thanks for reading.

The E-300 had a tunnel viewfinder. The E-5 had a great one though.

EVFs are not simple though and they require space so the "micro" argument will always fade a little.

Ugliness is in the eye of the beholder. I wrote that before <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

This I agree with <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> If this is what it will look like, I applaud Olympus for going with a look that's quite different from the norm.

Also, is that a very big screen, or just me thinking it is?
