Thanx for the test!

Is it field curvature which has less impact on typical real life use or is the lower resolution at borders real?

Field curvature (as well as slight decentering) is compensated in the tests by refocusing at the specific test spot on the image field. In the real life you may see it at 16mm at large aperture settings when taking images of a flat object. However, it is not extreme.

Hello Klaus,

thanks for the test!

A small amendment: This lens is NOT rated as a "G" lens, for whatever reason!

Ok - you are refocusing - thanx for clarification

Any chance you are going to test the superb ZA 24 F2 for comparison on that sensor? I'm using both lenses on A77 and there is a difference.I need to legitimate the money spent on the 24 2 to my wife <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

Hi Klaus,

It will be good if you also test these lenses on A55/A77 type camera.

Otherwise the impression goes that the lenses are weaker than they actually are.
