Nikon rumors teases about D600:

Are you ready for the Nikon D600? Full frame! Some basic specs coming up online later today...

Maybe this is a reason why Nikon updated non-pro prime lens line-up.

The reason Nikon is updating its prime line up mainly has to do with the missing lens motor in certain models. That made it a priority.

Hmh, yes it's also true but most Nikon primes where outdated, same thing is now with Canon non-L primes.

Also Nikon FF camera models does have a built-in AF motor.

So are you suggesting that it may be a FF camera without an motor?

I wonder how much it costs Nikon to put a motor in the camera...

No. I olny wonder which body design will it share, with D7000 or with D800 or maybe something inteemediete because new battery grip will be used. I'm also concerned will it use MultiCAM 48000 or MultiCAM 3500 AF system. Also there is a doubt about sensor, I think it would be a 16MP Nikon or 24MP Sony.

Quote: Unknown MP count at that point

The new camera will be marketed as an entry level full frame camera

Auto DX crop mode

Dual SD card slots

In-camera RAW editor

Built in time-lapse functionality

There will be no build-in HDR feature

Possible integrated GPS

New external battery grip

To be released this summer

Today's rumor says that D600 may have a 24MP sensor, may have no inbuilt AF motor, and may have a very low price ($1500). "No AF motor" sounds strange.

It is unclear to me moving from D700 to D600 is a "upgrade" or a "downgrade" <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

So D600 is not what I'm waiting for. I'm still hoping there will be a D800 body with D4 sensor.

If they really are going for a low(er) priced body, then stripping out everything they can is a logical step.

That's very unlikely, IMO.

Yep. And from Nikon's point of view, it also makes sense economically. Most lenses are available with AF-S today, and if they get you on board for cheap, they need to make you pay otherwise <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
