The Sigma is on the "wish list" but it has not been offered so far.

I'm not sure whether I'd like to test the Tamron once more.

Why is that? It seemed a decent enough lens at least in the Canon scope.

Since the 90mm Tamron neither seems to be tested on Nikon FF or Canon FF, I do not really get why you say "once more" either...



I would borrow you my Canon mount version if it did not have a troublesome MF ring.

The Tamron lens has been tested 3 times (Canon, Nikon, Pentax). Ok, that has always been on APS-C but it's realistic to expect a new version soon so putting resources into this doesn't seem to be appropriate. Not for a sub-10% market - honestly speaking.

Honestly if I’m on the market for 100 macro lens will buy tamron90 macro without any reviews. It is one of the legendary lenses available in back of nature and portrait professional or amateur photographer.

Unfortunately I should agree with Klaus that gearheads look nowadays on new thinks like – constant length ,IS/VR/VC/OS,faster AF etc.



Sorry if I sound as old fashioned guy. But the most important thinks when you look for such lens are

- Superb IQ in macro and infinity.

- Working distance in accordance to my needs.

- Good MF handling

- Accurate AF – in case that I use this lens for portraits

- Ergonomics.

- Reliability and serviceability

- Price



If tamron fulfill your requirements and you trust on many happy professional and amateur photographer just buy it.

if you need numbers ask Klaus to test it. But all 100 macros are so incredible good. if you look at PZ reviews can you say which lens has the best numbers?

It's a pity. Well, tests at SLRGear.com and TDP kinda show what we're supposed to expect (I'm on APS-H so I might even get the 60mm macro anyways).

The Canon EF-S 60mm f2.8 USM macro doe snot have the nicest of back ground bokeh... To me, that makes it a little less desirable.

I would go for the Tamron 60mm f2 Di II macro (do not know if it has a big enough image circle for APS-H) which has the most lovely background bokeh quality, or the Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro.
