Yeah, I saw that. Two years ago, I would have been really hyped about this, but Sony has disappointed me with their lenses and their NEX-7.
While FF is always tempting me, I can comfort myself knowing that, while the FF-NEX users are playing with their Zeiss 35mm f2.8, I will be going around with a Fuji 23mm f1.4

Sounds like the step everyone has been waiting for. In itself, a single 35mm f/2.8 lens isn't that exciting. To me it looks like they wanted to make a compact prime, although I'm not sure if I would go as far as to call it a pancake. It is quite small though. Only problem is, if you don't need to change lenses, the X100s and RX1 will give you equivalent focal length and more speed, both in a small package.
Anyway, it is only a starting point. I'm sure more "FE" lenses will come down the line and that will be the basis if the system goes anywhere or not.

I thought that they haven't completed their NEX-crop-lens system. And there is another system in the pipeline? Is the Alpha system going somewhere? I don't think it gained any traction after the last round of new models. IMO their RX and NEX lines are far more successful.
