Quite good ... except for the bokeh highlights:

Now that I've seen the out of focus rendition at T2 as well as T1.5, I'm not sure what it is.  The "center" of the double-bokeh is the same size as the oof rendition at t2, so all of the 'extra' is within the light path for f/1.4.  Perhaps one of the aspheres induces very strong 3rd order spherical to counterbalance the 5th order spherical that will develop at f1.4.

Here are some notes on aberrations and lenses:

I have no interest whatsoever in this lens, but asking out of curiosity - do you intend to test the non-cinematic version separately?

I have found the lens on line for $426 dollars, which is a give away price in the video world; absolutely for nothing!

For the most part it will be filming 1080p, and maybe 4K, it's resolution will have more than enough in reserve for it's intended filming purpose and is also capable of great results for still shooting and what's more in different mounts!

"Cinématicians"  will be jumping for joy at this and the three other Samyang 24mm, 35mm and 85mm ciné lenses, in fact they already are, looking at the plethora of utube videos, Samyang have four huge T1.5  winners here!

PS. mounts even include Pentax, (Samyangs lenses are normally chipped in the Pentax mount to operate the aperture from the body, not sure if this applies to the ciné T lenses)

What would be the point ? Same optics.

There is a point: For people looking for a review of the Samyang 50mm f1.4 won't find it on Photozone now. Not so nice for those people, and not so nice for your ad-revenues.

But I guess that is easily remedied with a link and some tags, instead of really testing what is in essence just another copy of the same optics Wink

The page title and the links say Samyang 50mm f/1.4 AS UMC as well. :-) Except on the front page but certain in Google.
