The 70-200 is actually quite nice, but almost as expensive as the OEM versions. And it seems to suffer from Tokina's usual problems with flare...

Tokina was successful for selling some unusual wide angle zooms for which there is not much competition.

Competing for 24-70/2.8 will be much harder.

I'd be interested in something more like 24-85/3.5 or 28-85/2.8

35-105/3.5 or 35-85/2.8 would also be interesting (and maybe easier to design?).

I see Tokina creating a f2.8 line of lenses: 16-28, 24-70,... Tamron does the same. I hope they come up f4 line.
