Today I got a Samsung S6 as my new work phone. I've been mostly setting it up working out which of the duplicates between Samsung and Google apps I want to keep, but just took some test shots with the camera, without flash. My subject was lit only by my monitor, and no other room light. A little remaining daylight comes from a window too, but the monitor would be dominant. I was surprised, the output wasn't pure mush! I wouldn't even expect my HX9V to provide much in this lighting. I'm actually curious how it will perform given some decent light to chew on.

Also trying to figure out what spec it is. Exif reports f/1.9 4.3mm lens but so far I haven't worked out the sensor size.

BTW, had to think of you when I read about the lens quality of the new Canon G3X.

6x horizontal crop factor, or 6.3x diagonal, giving in the ball park 26-27mm equivalent focal length.

As for the G3X, that would still not be small enough for me to seriously consider, especially at its UK price. Even the much lower grey import price doesn't tempt me. I think something like the SX50/SX60 would be more interesting. No, it wont be better but it is a lot cheaper!
