Ergonomics is not a "One size fit all" issue. Some people will be comfortable with X but not with Y and but others will feel exactly the opposite. Indeed, the Tamron 17-50/2.8 was a very strong candidate after I understood that my initial requirements can not be met in full but after experiencing a lot of hunting with my Tamron 60/2 macro [url="http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/949491/"]I thought about HSM lenses[/url]. If it wasn't for the problematic ergonomics I'd probably buy a 17-50/2.8 HSM or a 10-20/3.5 HSM. Not exactly fast but they do have other traits I'm after like AF and FL.

Ok then get the Panasonic 7-14 for mFT. Small, sharp, wide lens with AF that you can match with a small mFT body from either Panasonic or Olympus. Lots of body choices there and money is not an issue, right? Or is that also ergonomically or in some other way unsound? <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Of course not. I was hoping that someone could point out to me a lens that I missed. As you can see in the OP I made a research before posting and came out with several options that each was "flawed" in some aspect. I posted my question in hope that someone will say: "Hey, you forgot lens X which answers all your requirements".

Before the SLT era I was torn between the MFT options. The EP series had AS but lacked in AF, had no EVF and was too small. The G/GH series was perfect in most aspects but had no AS. And in addition, all options were lacking because of high ISO limitation (small sensor). So I waited.



Then came SLT and all my answers were answered. It had practically everything I wished for. So I rushed out and bought it, completely forgetting why I rejected the Rebel series in the first place. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />



Today I know that all small cameras are not for me, but the price of this learning will be high. So, long story short, you're not looking for a camera to take pictures... you're looking for some gear to satisfy some twisted need of yours for whatever reason. I just hope at least others who read this thread will see the error of your ways and not do the same and waste people's time.
