Forums > Back > Lab Test Results: Sigma 135mm f/1.8 HSM DG ART

I suppose it depends on the context and the species. For instance, entering in a lavender field in July makes you totally surrounded by bees, but moving slowly and paying attention I've cumulatively spent many hours without problems (the past years I wasn't interested in bees, but only in the lavender; this year I've been able to take the first bee shots on a lavender flower).

This year I did the thing with a 50mm + extension tubes. Clearly, I needed to shoot many photos to have just a few keepers, but it was fun nevertheless.

Did you tried with a longer macro lens as well, such as a 180 / 200 mm? The 135 Sigma is no Macro, but 87.5 cm for this FL is really close. And even when the focus motor was constantly agitated, it did very well.

I went the contrary and used the 14/1.8 which is - although wide open - sharp in the center - I just didn't want to put these samples into the 135 mm thread.

So, please open another thread and let us see the shots with the 14/1.8, I'm really curious...

PS Klaus, the <title> section has still PhotoZone (as well as <<span>meta name="<a class="">description</a>" content="<a class="">Photozone.de - DSLR lens reviews and beyond!</a>" /></span>).

I hate IP.Board. It caches content everywhere and recaching doesn't work.
