Luckily they only copied Sony's text, and not the colours from My First Sony!

So, "your" first mirrorless will be GirlFriend #10.

I'm wondering why they don't provide a successor for the GM5.

Same here.

I suspect they believe no advanced users would be interested in a tiny body.

The GM5 really fills a niche that doesn't exist anywhere else. I have one and despite the small EVF, it's still very useful.

I believe they could release a new version, maybe a tiny bit larger, with a better EVF and improved shutter mechanism.

I think it would sell well.

What's wrong with the shutter? It even has a silent mode.

I was about to buy a used GM5 on ebay ...

It's limited to 1/500 sec. After that it's electronic up to 1/16000.

The main downside of the electronic shutter on the GM5 is that the DR is reduced (10 bit RAW instead of 12 bits).

Despite these shortcomings, the GM5 is great little camera.

When I want to be super minimalistic, I carry the GM5 with either 20mm f1.7 (portraits) or 12-32 for landscapes.

I bet rather high end pricing combined with low perceived value of small body has a lot to do with no success of GM5.

Now that bigger brothers have been launched, I expect smaller side of portfolio will follow. There are three bodies, all with different sizes. GM5, GX85, GX8. It seems only GX85 was/is selling, surely also due to price.

Two new models to replace and reposition the old lot towards smaller size would make sense to me.
