@ Klaus - I would not spent time to review this lens - there are already plenty reviews of Russian version.

Some gossips said that Helios was copied from Zeiss, It seems now  Meyer Optik is coping Helios. Next logical step is Zeiss to re-label Mayer Optik <_<

 

    If it's the same as the Helios 85 mm F1.5 Klaus has already reviewed it on this site..........see under Pentax, tested on the K10 the full scope of the lens's FOV  lies beyond the APSc sensor, as does most of the bubble bokeh blur and all. 

  To quote Klaus from the review:  

   " I think the Helios would be a good boot camp for Rookies on a budget who want to explore the ultra-large aperture world"

   Somehow the new version at $1,000 doesn't seem appropriate for rookies on a budget!

I believe that everyone's needs - as far as 85mm focal length is concerned - are served by the Tamron VC. And in the E mount ecosystem the Sony f/1.8 looks like the steal of the century.

Are they kidding, check this photo quite dreadful, you wonder if is correctly focused check the model eyes 

Such a bokeh is quite odd marketing a lens flaw as a characteristic....well

If someone is dumb enough to pay money for such a lens, he deserves well his losses.

Yes, it's crazy. I've seen just a handful of photos in which that kind of bokeh works, and they are not portraits, but landscapes where the bokeh pattern is repeating a similar structure in the foreground. It would be nice to have a lens for those rare cases (actually, as said above, Helios lenses do that), but I wouldn't spend such a great amount of money...

considering a flaw as a characteristic ans making people pay money for it is insane, using a camera like 5Dmkiv any lens can do that in a customiseable way too

No one is "making people pay money for it" - people pay or don't, and if they don't the show is over quickly. And if they do, it's out of free will. I just wonder how much comments this thing generates.
