Forums > Back > Your suggestions for a camera for a professional instagram channel
#1
The hospital where I work has a promotional Instagram channel
https://www.instagram.com/beshhospital/
they want a new camera to replace 600D they are using
they asked my advice
the camera will be used by a non professional photgrapher with basic knowledge
resolution isn't important any photo camera will do
for video HD is already enough but autofocus on 600D is dismal
a microphone input would be nice but not a necessity
no MFT cameras in Lebanon
which models should I suggest ? the cheaper the better

Every current Canon camera now offers dual pixel PDAF, making them focus much better for video than other cameras. What kind of lens would they need, just a standard zoom?

Cameras are not an investment. And when it is a case like this, we are not talking about the need for a need for endless expansion into the future, just a stand alone camera.
But you already knew that, as you "advised" the Sony ZV-1. A camera that is not even a system to begin with, but "an already dead at inception system".

who cares ?? they will get nothing but the camera and kit lens, it will do very well its intended job for two or three years, the user will use nothing but the shutter button and video button, for anything else they usually call me.

For events and congress photography they rely on a professional (Ghas a close friend of mine)

In this case, a system camera is the very last thing they need. Any smartphone will be sufficient.

Smartphones suck with HD video. It is called HD, but the results are not very detail rich, are they. And smartphones are linked to one user, not a great idea for this purpose.
