Quite interesting lens with a module system and ... breathtaking MTFs actually (if true).

Depending on the configuration:

1x CaF2 (!) element

2-3x elements

dcwatch has more info and samples @

Interesting stuff! Bokeh looks a heck of a lot better than reflectors. 500/5.6 would not be easy to operate, manual focus and no IS of course. Any idea of pricing?

1 fluorite element close to ~90mm in diameter + 2-3 extra low dispersion elements = can't be cheap.

I estimate the prices to be around that of a Sigma etc. 300 2.8 lens or a bit less.

The base units seems to cost just under 2000EUR.

The individual extension modules should be around 200EUR or so.

It looked very nice indeed, until I saw the price <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> Too much for me at least, but then most things are.

It would be fun to test it though.

I canceled the Walimex mirror test, BTW. The measured resolution was well below the minimum mark ...

The Walimex?

A few weeks ago I asked whether there was any interest in a test of a 800mm f/8 mirror lens (made by Walimex aka Samyang).

Ah, I see, my memory isn't always good <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Too bad it wasn't good enough. Would have been interesting.

Wow... my price guess of around or under USD3000 (2200 EUR) was spot on! <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />
