while 28mm isn't really my preferred focal length, but this tiny lens looks tempting...
They removed sensor cleaning from R100.... which will make it a useless camera after a few months unless you never remove the kit lens ...

I liked 28 mm lenses a lot when I still shot film. Back then 20-28-50-105 seemed the perfect set of primes for me, although I would have liked a 15 mm in additions as well back then. Out of reach budgetwise however Smile.

These days I do use 24 mm instead, but I guess that is really because of the TS-E, and the fact there is no 28L Smile.

BTW, the lens design and its elements are quite different from anything I have seen before. Just below the MTF-chart is the lens design. Rather weirdly shaped front lenses, molded asphericals. It looks like an inside out Tessar with a couple of lenses for the wide angle view.
Gear: Canon EOS R with 3 primes and 2 zooms, 4 EF-R adapters, Canon EOS 5 (analog), 9 Canon EF primes, a lone Canon EF zoom, 2 extenders, 2 converters, tubes; Olympus OM-D 1 Mk II & Pen F with 12 primes, 6 zooms, and 3 Metabones EF-MFT adapters ....

The 28mm pancake looks cool, while the camera appears like an exercise in taking away as much as they can get away with (so it's probably the actual rock bottom in the lineup, a la 1000D, unless they find ways of crippling it even more and go for four digits in the model name, lol).

Canon 35mmf1.8 IS STM was on my list then they listed this one....I prefer 35 versus 28mm, (my primes lineup would be 20-35-50 and 85) however focal length are practicaly closo the 35 has stabilisation but it's bigger and heavier, so I might well get it
