Forums > Back > Samyang AF 75mm f/1.8 FE
#1
Now that my 16-70mm emergency is over, looking at completing my set of primes it seems that a fast 70/75mm would perfectly sit between my 50mm and 105mm lenses. I see that Samyang offers an AF 75mm f/1.8 FE that is about 300€, compact and light (230g), and got some good reviews by Reeve, Abbott and Frost:

Does anybody here have an experience with it?

Well, curiously I've found a special offer on Amazon for 280€ — used, like new. I'll let you know. Let's hope I hit the 50% of chances of getting a lens not decentered.

Sweet; I guess the 24-70 that was kinda announced through Patreon a while ago and... the 12/2...? Smile But there's a boatload of Samyang lenses in E mount anyway: 24/1.8, 24/2.8, 35/1.8, 35/2.8, 45/1.8, 75/1.8... what else?

Got it. The day was dull, grey and a bit rainy, so I couldn't run a full test — but a quick handheld decentering test didn't show any evident strong problem (perhaps just a bit, but it might be micro-motion blur). I wouldn't have bet on that for a used lens (I suppose most returned copies are due to decentering). The lens is pretty nice, so I really hope I won't find any problem in the next days. There are a couple of quirks that I have to investigate.

Well, well, well (just seen the preview stuff on Patreon). Very curious about it. Smile
