They seem to have teased a new lens in their Facebook group.

On Facebook and Instagram too.
The 'owlish' pun ("Get ready for some owlsome news!"), the lens used (Zeiss Otus 85mm f/1.4) and the bird in the picture (a scops owl, Otus scops in Latin) all suggest that a new Otus lens is about to be announced.
Maybe new Otuses for mirrorless cameras.
I'd hope for a new Batis but "Owl" suggests something "big eyed".

Hmmh, so manual focus.
And I wonder about the demand for 50mm lenses out there ...

In these days, Manual focus + Otus level pricing = DOA?
Or at least ultra niche, which is not a recipe for good sales, and thus income...

I wonder whether these lenses are really Zeiss designed

Meh, one doesn't have to be an expert at reading tea leaves to predict this.
In other news, OL has gone exactly two years without any MFT reviews, as of today.
