Both alone are of course ok. But the combination of bar charts and a cutted axis is debatable. Because only in a bar chart you visually perceive the area of a bar as the data at this point, which is misleading with a cutted axis.



I agree that this is not a scientific journal, but then you have to take care here even more, when people tend to take a first glance at the figures only and do not look at the numbers to judge performance of a lens.

It is indeed a very nice lens. If Panasonic has the sense to put the GH2 sensor in a GFx... I would be interested (for my new found 55mm f2 ultra micro from Nikon and this Voigtlander, and the 17mm).



One thing about the charts: we do need to have horizontal lines in the graphs, to easily read them. The info at the mouse pointer is very nicely done though, congratulations on that nice touch.

Hmm, what kind of a bag are you anticipating? The 25mm/.95 is not particularly small. If you get a bag to fit this and a few of the other lenses you name, I assume it would also fit an GH2 instead of a GF1.

For some reason the sample images didn't really excite me; seems kind of flat or low contrast. Is this just preference or did you notice if this lens produces some what coloudy images compared to (for example) leica 25f1.4 or zuiko 50f2 ?

The contrast is always reduced at such extreme aperture settings.

Well, I've Canon, Sony Alpha, Pentax and Samsung NX. And the Nikon micro-system is around the corner it seems.

I think Voigtlander is officially part of the 4/3 consortium and therefore has access to all the technical specs. Why not make the lens with AF & aperture control?



The 4/3 format is often criticized for the larger DOF, but it seems a plus for super large aperture lenses (F/0.95) probably gives DOF that is too thin on FF cameras.

The GH2 is still considerably bigger and not as elegant as a GF1. And I could care less about the video aspect.. I like the sensor of the Gh2 because of its 3:2 support.

It would mean just traveling with the 25mm and 17mm, and then using the Ultra Micro Nikkor 55mm f2 and 28mm f1.8 in other situations. So any bag would not have to be big at all <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />.

I must admit I did not like it. As a person who buys fast lenses to use them primarily on their widest settings this lens is far from exhilarate me at 0.95. And it lacks AF which I also like. I hope the new 25/1.4 will perform better.



BTW, if I'm not mistaken it was originally a c-mount lens an only later Voigtlander converted the mount, right?
