Well, the 16-35 does have its shortcomings (see the review), but in general it's nonetheless a lens to like. I just switched back to it myself. It's not the best wide angle zoom, optically, but I like the combination of wide angle and VR. PLus, it takes filters ... and doesn't flare like crazy <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Well I don't think the 2 degrees are worth 500€ and I prefer having a filter opportunity and the piqué is still pretty good and it makes more sense as an all round street report lense. A little update. I have had and tried the 16-35 for a while now and find that it is for me he ideal street, city travel and reportage lens. In spite of its size, it gives me everything I want when visiting or reporting on a city and the filter option is a real plus when shooting water and landscapes. I use a Hoya PRO polarizer and the rendition is great. My flash covers the whole width and I am a happy camper with this one.
