I would like to buy a few natural density graduated filters. Lee or the Singh-Ray ones... I am not sure which size I should buy. I would like to use them with my Canon 17-40mm f/4 lens (filter size 77mm) or I can borrow my friends Nikon 14-24mm 2.8g lens.
Which filter size should I buy? The 4x6 is twice as much...
Thanks!
I just tape a test strip (ND 4) from Lee filters over the top of my lens, and it works a treat. Gives a nice soft-focus effect too because of the PVC material. And you can shift the horizon point too by just moving the plastic up or down.
I've also heard you can get curved (convex) filters for the Nikon lens which gets around the problem of the bulbous front element. They're apparently made by a small company in the far east, somewhere like Bhutan or something.

Thanks a lot! I just need to find a holder for it.

Regarding the Nikon 14-24mm, Lee SW150 is known to be one of the best fits (carries 150x170mm filters)... It also has a "system adaptor" which can be used for other lenses.
