We would probably have to extend the mtf chart scaling at the lower end for these <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Well, light grey, not white. And only 3 of them: AF-S 70-200 VR I, AF-S 300/4 and AF-S 28-70/2.8

All tested already <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

So very very very light grey that they are whiter than the Canon "whites" <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Hmm... anything white from Pentax?

Looking back, even a 100-400L retest isn't likely to be a 4.5 star result. Could it be a retest of another lens perhaps?... something that may be tested at 8MP APS-C but not yet at 15MP?
<a class="bbc_url" href="http://snowporing.deviantart.com/">dA</a> Canon 7D2, 7D, 5D2, 600D, 450D, 300D IR modified, 1D, EF-S 10-18, 15-85, EF 35/2, 85/1.8, 135/2, 70-300L, 100-400L, MP-E65, Zeiss 2/50, Sigma 150 macro, 120-300/2.8, Samyang 8mm fisheye, Olympus E-P1, Panasonic 20/1.7, Sony HX9V, Fuji X100.

Am I the only one remembering an info bit coming from Klaus about retesting the 100-400?

But this lens is able to produce horrible bokeh in the field ...

What about Canon 800mm f/5.6? I of course don't know about limitations of your tests, but this truly is a legendary lens...

I believe there are some big physical challenges with testing longer focal lengths. Also there is some point where the lens is too "high end" or costly to be tested.

Back on my APS-C retest theory, there's the following done at 8MP but not 15MP:

4 stars:

70-200/4

300/4

300/4 IS

3.5 stars

400/5.6

100-400L

Apologies if I've overlooked some 70-200 models, there's enough of them!

Edit: wasn't the 400/5.6 recently retested on FF? So that's a good chance of retest at APS-C too?

I think 400mm on APS-C is a bit too long for Klaus to test at the moment?

In reality they are indeed light grey, not white. However, in direct comparison, the Canon "whites" have a slightly yellowish cast, so yes, the Nikons are whiter <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

FA*85 is legenday and white-ish, but I don't think it was in the most recent Pentax test-forecast from Klaus.

Maybe the FA31 Ltd or FA77 Ltd ... legendary and white-ish <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />?

It would be interesting to see these Pentax legends tested on Canon full-frame... <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />
