Zeiss Milvus lenses for EOS and F-mount
#31
Quote:Haha... go Sigma and Tamron! Big Grin
Indeed, that Tamron 35mm f1.8 lens for sure, over the Zeiss Mulva Milvus 35mm f2.

I can't see anything special in their specs, but the prices would put them in that "specialty category" -  out of reach. I like the previous design better... I wander how the 50mm and 100mm  would look after the inner tube extends for close focusing.

  When I read it's price

   $1,283 50mm f/2 Macro

I feel a warm glow knowing that I paid 180 euros for my FA 55mm F2.8 Micro Nikor with a little history thrown in, and of course that little extra

    Auto Focus.

   Bring back the dinosaurs!

The ZE 100MP is perhaps my favorite lens and it itself looks a bit funky when extended.  The new version is even worse looking when extended, and the axial chromatic aberration problem will persist.  At least the price tag does too =)

Quote:Otus, Loxia, Milvus, Batis, Touit - any chance to keep an overview by all these colourful, yet difficult to remember names?
I had to make a table...

No Milvus 85mm f1.4? No ZE/ZF "Classic" (15mm f2.8, 18mm f3.5, 25mm f2, 25mm f2.8, 28mm f2, 35mm f1.4, 50mm f1.4, 85mm f1.4, 135mm f2), since that Classic range will continue alongside Milvus?

For mount you could make the E vs FE distinction, in a way?

Don't want to make you work, popo, but you could include pictures of the birds borrowing their names to Zeiss  Big Grin I still try to figure out the eyesight of that crossbill  And of course, as well the tin cans of the classic design (the Contax versions were the best design anyway, real lenses with real black paint, real sticky grease, real prismatic rubber rings and real bad sales at the end)

As I expected - awful.

In most pictures I don't discover the outer design of the lens they were taken with  Rolleyes Well, the good news is, nobody has to buy a lens with an awful design... I see other lenses being a tiny bit more awful
