Some specs leaked

No words about the VF and AF yet

Looks more like a hotted up version of GX80 than an upgrade of GX8.

Seems to be a tiltable viewfinder but of the same size as GX80, but perhaps an oled vf?

I hope it's an OLED. I want deep blacks!

Seems very likely though - this is a GX after all.

Yep, hopefuly they have put better viewfinder in there. Although I am fine using one in GX80, it is clear state of the art today is a way further than what is in GX80. G7 OLED one is noticeably better, and it is far from newest technology available.

Not long till full specs come out, I reckon.

The cat is now out of the bag: https://www.dpreview.com/news/8865133559...-mechanism

They should have named it GX90 instead of GX8. From the specs, it's more of an upgrade of the GX80 instead of the GX8:
  • Same 20MP sensor as GX8
  • Same crappy EVF as GX80
  • Tiltable screen instead of fully articulated
  • No weather sealing
  • 4-stop IBIS (improvement to both GX8 and GX80)
  • ...
As it stands, it is more a GX80 with 20MP than a GX8 successor. What a bummer :-(

Why does Panasonic persist in using this crappy 16:9 EVF panel from the GX7?

We're not in 2013 anymore...

Looks like a competitor to the Pen F. Most likely the same sensor....

So they fucked it up ...  Big Grin

No weather sealing, outdated viewfinder. Was that really so difficult, Panasonic?

Stil, nice pricing. Those $999 are including the Pana 12-60mm. That's almost cheap by today's standards.
