I have the opportunity to get my hands on it.
But it is gigantic and I'm having doubts that it is a popular one.

Sure, test it against the Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM (I picked up one pristine looking copy of the latter in a local store for €150). I estimate that the Sony PZ will outperform it .
And of course you have to review this lens, it does not have PZ in its name for nothing B)

Hm. I don't think it's an interesting lens for photographers, so I'd prefer reviews of other lenses. But it's not up to me to decide, obviously, and if you can get your hands on a copy (for free) and have the time to do the review, why not?

You said Sony reviews are done at economic loss, so the only question is do you think you'll have fun with that lens?

If you said you could test a coke bottle, I would've said "go for it!" I would love to see a review of an actual lens, especially such an unusual one.

Sony shooters aren't exactly spoilt for choice and of course we'll do our bit to spread the PZ word.
