And here it is... http://www.opticallimits.com/m43/862_oly1240

I love this lens but it's damn expensive.

Thanks for the review Sebbi.

Yes, it looks like the initially rumoured "reasonable" price has gone for good. I'll let it grow old.

#3
No worries - I believe it's a good idea to wait... :-)

Optically seems close to the Pan 12-35, which actually has a bit higher resolution in the center. I guess I'll stay with that lens for a while. Like you said, a big price drop would make the Olympus more tempting.

You can get this len with 4000yuan(660USD)in China mainland or Hongkong  (kit len without boxing)

about 1000yuan(160USD) cheaper than 12-35

:-)

Hi

> Lateral CAs (color shadows at the image borders) are

also auto-corrected on Panasonic MFT cameras but NOT on Olympus MFT

cameras.

LaCA are "corrected" on E-M1... E-M1 firmware writes LaCA corrections in raw files like Panasonic does, naturally OOC JPGs are corrected too... please fix the statement.

Tested using the GX1 but the sample shots were done with the GX7? Can you comment on the max resolution obtainable with the GX1 compared to the GX7?

Yep - the GX7 is my new companion and I am using it for the sample shots.

However, I can't tell you more about the difference in resolution between GX1 and GX7 - but dxomark can: http://www.dxomark.com/Lenses/Olympus/Ol...C-GX7__901

That´s the point, the resolution they got with the GX7 is so low - it´s actually hard to believe. Would have been nice to have a clarification from PZ on this.

As you may have noticed in the past I also used the GH3 for the sample pictures in some tests.

As far as the sample pictures is concerned, the results aren't really comparable. The GX1 has an AA filter whereas the GH3/GX7 do not. The MTFs are consistent across all tests though.

Honestly I have never measured the max. LW/PH of the GH3 (under the same conditions anyway).
