I agree with BC, Joachim and Dave. As I also told you, the focus is behind the fructal, and since you mention the numbers on the wooden utensil holders (8 xxx something). Yes, even these numbers seem to be slighty out of focus, but BEHIND it, the window frame, looks sharper. The focus is in the back! And for f8 it's outside the window!
The center is where your AF points of the camera are, not the edges, so that needs to be in focus, because that's where you camera focuses!
How the edges will look, depends on the design of the lens, and how curved or straight the focal plane is (i.e. the field curvature). See this example here for the Tamron 17-50mm

Many lenses have actually a field curvature in the other direction, i.e. the corners are closer to the camera. Macro lenses tend to be rather flat.
