Review of Canon EF 35mm IS USM
#1
I just completed my review of the Canon EF 35mm f/2.0 IS USM lens. You can read it on my website:

Nice calendar, Jens!

Your review misses some photos, especially concerning bokeh. One can not get a feel for it from just words... I probably will not like the 35mm f2 IS much, due to what you write... except for my close up stuff.

Very interesting, Jens, and very helpful. Thanks.

I have the 35 f1.4L which I use on a 5DII. Like you I find the lens too heavy and virtually never use it between f1.4 and f2.0. I also find the 5DII too heavy and am looking to get a lighter body and 35mm lens for my trip to Oz and NZ in March. I visited my daughter in Madrid in spring 2011 and spent 4 days wandering around various cities carrying the 5DII, 17-40L and 70-200 f4L IS in 32 degC heat. My wife and daughter thought I was crazy and after a couple of days, I had to agree. So smaller and lighter is the way for me on my travels from now on and your review of the 35 f2IS is very timely for me.

Love the calender too.

Michael
