So I tested it. It seems to be that the focus scale is correct. I had the camera only a few centimeters off the ground with the measuring tape about where the marking on the camera says the focus plane is (which is where one should measure from, right?), and had placed items at various distances corresponds with various distances on the focus ring, so I could adjust the focus ring to a certain distance, take a picture and see if focus hit. They did hit I think, if they're off, it's not by much, and probably me not placing the measuring tape correctly and not having adjusted the ring perfectly.

Also, I must say the bokeh is nice.



I did test all the apertures (from f/2.8 to f/22) and focused approximately at the various hyperfocal distances for every aperture value, and it seems to be correct, but to make sure, I'd focus a bit farther away to get things in focus in the distance. I'll make some test images of that tomorrow from up high, watching over a landscape.
