Another part of the rumour is it will be announced on Monday, so if true wont be a rumour for much longer.
Some other random thoughts I had:
Very crudely I'd estimate from the image a body width of 96mm, 61mm height to flat part, both excluding protrusions, and give me a good tolerance for error here! For comparison, my HX9V compact is 105mm wide 60mm tall. I think this is even smaller than the NEX models.
On that size body and styling, I wouldn't expect EVF. Maybe one for a future model.
A 22mm lens, assuming 1.6x crop factor sensor would give a classic 35mm length. If they used a smaller G1 X sized sensor that would push it out to just past 40mm equiv.
If APS-C sensor, expect it to be the same as the one in the 650D. Hopefully electrically compatible with EF(-S) mount requiring only a glorified extension tube to adapt.
Best case: Canon have come up with an APS-C sensor system with compact body and lenses that doesn't suck like all the rest. Worst case: this is another NEX.
