What is terrible is the very busy, restless "structures" the lens renders. This particular photo (last one, in the 2nd post) is not the worst. Although we do see a tendency of the lens there to make circular patterns in its blurred parts, notice how the yellow seems to swarm around the middle of the image? Often you see this with lenses which do not produce nice bokeh. Not a huge problem on its own, it can be charming. But a sign that bokeh might not be great.

the background bokeh is quite unpleasant. The trees and branches get a "double" quality, almost dizzying.

Double lines that makes one wonder if one has been drinking a bit too much.



Here every highlight and circular segment almost becomes an object on its own. No creaminess, no smoothness... just busy, restless bokeh.

And the difference should be apparent. The 120mm is not perfect, but really quite agreeable and pleasant. This 135mm is no star (bokeh-wise at least)
