Greetings all.
I have always used filters for protection and UV filtration for film. But I found after buying a very sharp wide angle lens (Tokina 11-16 F/2.8) when I used the filter. The slightest little tiny bit of skin. I.E. from dry skin. or medium dust particle that found it's way on there. Even after a brushing before the shot. Could be seen in the photo. After removing the filter (B&W) the same dust or dry skin particle had no effect on the final image. So on THIS particular lens. I seem to be better off (vis a vis image quality) without a filter. I always use the hood with this lens.
