Quite happy with the optical performance according to this review
305 g. 58 mm filter thread size
I've told myself I shall hang on to my current cameras/lenses for 5 years. After that, I'm dumping everything for m43. The OM-D sensor and this 12-35 f/2.8 lenses got me drooling.... Hopefully by then, m43 will get an equivalent 150 mm (FF equivalent) 1:1 macro lens.
I don't understand the concern about f/5.6 (FF equivalent) DOF. If shallow DOF is needed, then nothing beats FF (please don't talk about MF cameras with their out-of-the-world prices). If fast AF is desired, then phase detection AF is the answer. Those are the reasons that compel me to get a FF camera to meet my current needs

Well, you don't have to wait for the macro much longer. Olympus is going to release a 60mm f/2.8 (1:1) this summer. That's not 150mm but close enough I guess.
