Maybe you feel you have given a reason why that will not make more sense, but you have not given such a reason.
What appears to be a problem for the NEX-7N sensor configuration is the angle at which light enters the thick filter glass and/or microlenses, which results, according to observations from different sources, to lesser resolution and/or contrast than one would expect.
With these angles, wider apertures play a role, apparently. Even with a relatively long lens, but a lens with a big aperture, an apparent effect has been noted (85mm f1.4).
Other sources do show that with closing down the aperture, even with wide angle E-mount or M-mount lenses, the resolution issues resolve to a big degree.
In view of all this, I do not understand why you claim is does not make more sense to test the 24mm at f2, the 35mm at f1.4 to f2.8, and the full frame standard zoom at 24mm instead of 50mm.
Nice to read though, that I am certainly welcome to do the test myself. I will await for you to send me your NEX-7, Zeiss 24mm f2, 35mm f1.4 and Sony/Zeiss 24-28mm f2.8 to loan for the duration of testing. I do not think I will need them for a longer time than 3 days, after which I will return them immediately and with appropriate insurance. And naturally, I will take good care of your equipment as were it my own.
