Of course this is assuming.

What you then would be trying to hide with your refusal to do a more sensible test (wide open with the Zeiss 24mm f2 and wide angle f2.8 with the standard zoom) would of course then be the outcome, compared to a closed down aperture. That would actually be trying to look into the issue, and narrow it down more lens wise.



Whether or not that is the case (the hide motive) one can only guess on, so yes, that is assuming.
