next PZ lens test report: Zeiss ZE Distagon T* 25mm f/2

Thanks for the link BC... I think except for the purple flower shot, the bokeh looks very pleasing and the color rendition is great in all samples... And by the way, I'm not sure if Canon 24 or Nikon 24 could do better at that purple flower shot. Other than that; almost the same MF distance, same max. magnification, same ballpark with regard to bokeh... Maybe better color rendition and better BQ, but no AF, not weather sealed and corners are darker... Not hard to make a choice... or is it <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />...

Zeiss 25 has a relatively smaller front element compared to Canon and Nikon. I guess this was considered to be able to compete in prices <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />... I can't imagine the price of a full format 24mm F1.4 Zeiss glass...

ZA 24 has 72mm filter. This has what, 58mm? (57mm stated in the review, probably a typo as I pointed earlier). The price is not much different I think. So Zeiss has cheaped out on this (not that the ZA is free of vignetting problems, though... anyways, fast WA = vignetting galore).
