Motorsports with M9?
#1
Well, why not? One just needs to find some other than the usual subjects <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Spent the last Saturday with my son at the "ADAC Eifelrennen", a yearly oldtimer race event on the Nürburgring. Weather was great (and warm ... very unusual for that place in general and especially this time of the year). The free access to the paddock at this event of course made it easy to find some suitable subjects for the limited range of the camera.

Some very nice shots Markus.

Finding the right subject for the camera you have is the

key to nice images. (That was my experience with the

5D and the Zeiss 45/2.8 as a sole lens in one of my last

vacations).

BTW: Did the race use the complete "green hell" or did they

just run over the normal F1 course?

There were several races that day, often quite short (half an hour) and most of them took place on the grand prix track only. Among others there were historic motorcycles, sidecars, historic formula one cars, some CanAm sports cars ("big bangers"), several touring car races (including the "battle of the dwarfs" for up to 1300 ccm) and also some presentation events (like a W165 "Silberpfeil" piloted by Jochen Maass). In the afternoon, however, there was a 3 hour touring car race (the actual "Eifelrennen") on the maximum track length (grand prix plus green hell).

Thanks for sharing Marcus.

Nice panning effect at first image and very nice pictures with limited DOF and color contrasts/as usual/.

Nice collection I like it.

Do they make this event every year? I have seen advertisement on the highway /A48 or A61/. It was cold and rainy last Thursday. It is good idea to visit this event next year with my son.

Sorry for the late reply, Miro.

Yes, it's a yearly event. There's actually another similar event, also yearly, that is called "AvD Oldtimer Grandprix". Both are worth a visit, IMO. Drop me a line if you go there next year.
