What Yakim said is general rule of thumb; but not relative to how does this specific lens compare to this specific zoom. THat is covered in the last paragraph; it is not fully known yet. I actually have a similar question. While the zoom is quite pricey and naturally a bit larger; given the expense of the 12f2; the zoom is price competitive if it has nice optical qualities; but this remains to be seen. The 12f2 is well received. Given the zoom and the 12f2 it begs the question if there is a market for the new 14f2.
One thing that has proven a + for the olympus prime is that they appear to have minimal loca and resistance to flare.
This is not to say it is completely free of loca but quite minimal (this comment extends to 12f2, 45f1.8 and on preliminary reports 75f1.8).
These are unknown factors for the new zoom. Personally I would prefer such a zoom with a bit longer reach and without ios (at a lower price of course) but it remains to see if olympus will play in this space.
