next PZ lens test report: Sigma AF 150mm f/2.8 EX HSM DG APO macro OS (EOS)
#1
No surprises ... still a great lens in the APS-C scope as well.

Added some macro sample images here (which are not really suitable for a bokeh analysis due to the extreme focus spread).

Hum. I wonder how it compares to the voigtlander 125

Hi Klaus,

Thanks for efforts to make this interesting review.

Maybe a little bit off topic – It shame that Sigma will probably discount the non OS versions. Sigmaphoto.com and JP.com shows that 150 and 105 non OS products are discounted. Sigma benelux maybe is not up to date and shows that non OS version is still regular product. Few weeks ago the prices for Sigma 150 Non OS in the Netherlands reached the sky. Now the prices are stabilized somehow, but they are still higher than Mart, April 2011 prices.

Good technical question!

However the stunning images that I have seen are made either with

1. Sigma 150 + 1.4 TC

2. Sigma 150

3. canon 180

4. Sigma 180

5. Sigma 180 + 1.4TC

This is the list in canon land.

Honestly I have not seen stunning images from voigtlander 125. I wonder why it is not popular by top photographers. Please let me know, if you have some links with good macro shoots with voigtlander 125. I’m sure that they exist.

Just contacted with Sigma benelux.

Sigma 150 non OS canon mount is available for sale until stock is empty.

Spare parts should be available for at least 6 years.

Well, I still have mine but I'm going to sell it. Regarding the scarce availability it is not really worth to do another review of it.

But regarding its special qualities, it is worth to do a review of it... Part of the knowledge base of that special lens on the internet?

There's already an APS-C review of it here ...

I know... but no FF review, and it is an FF 135 format lens. It is your time and your work, but I hope you might reconsider and test it on the 5D mkII just for the sake of documenting that lens that was sacrificed for the Zeiss 100mm f2 macro.
