Just a remark. Considering this is a replacement of the previous, admittedly superior 14-45, it would have been nice to include a few comparison notes for key aspects other than center resolution ?
Of course, I can still read the other one but made sense to me...
On a personal note, I'd add that although build quality may seem fine at the beginning, all panasonic mft lenses losen quite a bit and are quite sensible to temperature of operation -temperature considerably alters their handling characteristics. For all three I've got (20mm,14-45,45-200).

Klaus should borrow you his GH2 for the lens tests - the other systems are tested at the highest available pixel density while m43 is still kind of neglected.

Not quite. There needs to be a significant step in resolution to change the test camera. That's not the case yet regarding m43. A switch might happen with the GH-3.
Also remember that we need to start a section from scratch with a new test camera. You might imagine that we don't feel the urge to do so only to use the latest camera.

The base cameras have endure a life span of 3-4 years regardless of the section. In MFT land we aren't quite there yet. 12mp are still mainstream here anyway so I don't see any need to move on at this stage.
We are even using a A700 in the Sony section so this one is clearly the next on the list - not the GF1. We could even use the GF3 now which is still based on the same sensor design as the GF1.

It's here but not yet tested. I took it to Sardinia - frankly ... not an overly impressive lens specifically beyond ~75mm.
Sounds like a typical hyperzoom. Thanks for the info.
BTW, may I ask how was Sardinia? I never thought about it as a tourist attraction.
