next PZ lens test report: Pentax SMC DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited
#1
Very good:

However, I have withdrawn the HR due to the discovered bokeh issues.

And now ... bye, bye ... vacation time ...

Enjoy. J.

PS: The 40mm on the K5 almost looks like a lens cap <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Thanks for the review, Klaus.

Nice lens overall, despite the slight disappointment regarding the bokeh.

What gear are you taking with you on your vacation?

Cute little lens. It's great that the sharpness is high but bokeh is simply awful. Reminds me of the Zeiss 24-70/2.8 in that regard.

I wonder if they will release a small MILC to go along with such tiny lenses.

What does MILC stand for??

I guess you mean EVIL?

Of course they will not release an EVIL for an SLR lens. The lens is designed to have a certain distance to the film/sensor, so a camera without mirror box will put the lens too close to the sensor. One would need an extension tube to make it work, which undoes the lens' small size again (or the camera's smaller size, depending how you look at it).

Mirrorless Interchangeable-Lens Camera

It´s not clear whether the term MILC will supersede EVIL.

I hope it will as it is both more accurate and has no bad connotations.
