Does My Sigma 30 1.4 Have Focusing Issues?
#1
Used center focus point to focus on the numbers. 1-10.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

I've noticed I'm missing focus on alot of my images. That didn't really happen with me with 50 1.8, but maybe I need to learn 30 1.4? Maybe it is the lens fault? Let me know! 8 D

well if you've auto focused on the number 1 then the lens seems to be back focusing a tad so micro focus minus a bit maybe, no? -

and - i bought some tube traps yonks ago and they work a treat to tame the rooms sound - don't know about auralex room treatment though

On the numbers 1-10??

I am sure you meant something else?

You can NOT test focus that way.

1. Focus points are BIGGER than shown in the view finder.

2. If there is something under the focus point in the image on more than one focus plain, how is the camera to know what to focus on, what you WANT it to focus on? You need to focus in something that is flat in the focus plain.

It can be the camera/lens combination that focusses not too accurately at certain circumstances, which would mean that the lens might have to be calibrated by the manufacturer. But, impossible to determine for is if, and why, the combination would be misfocussing, from your posted image.
