Pany/Leica DG Elmarit 200mm f2.8

IQ is highly impressive. One the best lenses they ever tested.

Only drawback AF hunting with Olympus bodies.

With the 1.4x converter, it's a very interesting alternative to the Oly 300m f4.

The Pany probably offers better bokeh (it is the weakness of the Oly's).

New resolution record? That get's me curious.

Klaus, any plans to test the lens? ;-)

Quote:It oscillates around the proper position once, twice, even three times; sometimes it goes far away from the proper setting and returns only after a while. It doesn’t happen always, it doesn’t happen very often but, in our humble opinion, for an instrument of this class it happens definitely too often.

Hmm, reading this and after that watching the movie, I noticed the battery symbol went red and blinking. I don't know how much low batteries influence AF, but the AF drive of a lens this size needs to get some juice, I reckon'?

Well at that price point you would expect a near perfect lens and I guess they delivered.

No doubt that it  is a fabulous lens!

At it's price point I would want to know more about the AF's foibles!

Olympus already indicated they would bring out a firmware fix for this.
