.The only problem I have with higher resolutions is the bigger file sizes that come with that.

No problem with the file size. Simply the people doesn't understand that new camera requires new PC

Well, I personally have 12mp because 3mp or 6mp does not have a better AF/metering/low light performance or LiveView etc... So high pixel density comes with the package...

So then you say you don't need it (12mp). Ok... well, if one never prints in bigger print sizes, one indeed would not need that.

That is of course nonsense.

That and amplified corner problems.

[/quote]

There corners are not going to look worse... maybe not much better, but in fact, still better...

That is true... they will not get worse just by increasing the sample rate.

Tell me why?

This is not a "need" and also not a 1 or 0 issue... This is something I pay for and it's good to have 12mp rather than 6mp of course (given that I use a 22inch display). But I don't buy a camera body only for it's sensor's pixel density. It's a priority issue, is that too hard to understand! Actually, we're getting away from the topic here. I still don't understand how come a 24mp in APS-C compared to 16mp in APS-C is a great leap and a must have (when already a lot of other technical criterias deserve an effort)?

Can't you comprehend yourself why that is nonsense?

At some stage (effective) blur (and decentering) gets just amplified in terms of pixel spread (not according to the same print size).

If I've a blur spread of 2px @ 12mp it gets multiplied to some degree. Where's the point ? Digicams have long departed from a point where an image is really pixel sharp.

You make it sound so grim, Klaus <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Not all of us are focusing using the center point and shooting flat subjects wide open <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
