If rumors are true, the K-5 is no replacement for either of those, but a level above. The K-r is more of a replacement for the K10D/K20D and below K-7 IMO. Yes, no weather sealed body, but still.
Anyhow, I'm very excited about this announcement. Most likely it's my new camera we're waiting for, the one which will make my K-x my second body. I was planning on buying a second K-x before I knew of these new announcements that were to come.

PS: I've not been logged in as I'm on a laptop and my stationary is down due to a dead PSU, but now I had to write something and managed to figure out my login <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> My user name for login is not my user name here as it turns out, but now I'm remembering that.
Also, I now own the Sigma 8-16mm and Pentax 16-50mm. I had to sell my previous 16-50mm unfortunately, but it's nice to have it again. I also had to sell my 10-20mm 1:4-5.6. The 8-16mm is fantastic and better than my old super wide angle form Sigma.
