"Stoopid" Camera Engineering Flaws
#31
Be thankful for small mercies. Remember the Olympus 2020 and 3000 compact cameras where the lens barrel moved out when swithed on and came to a shuddering stop when it hit the clipped on lens cap <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I don't know if it is a design flaw, but the Canon MR-14EX Macro Ring Flash is a battery vampire. Sucks the life blood out of any batteries left in it overnight. Now why don't flash designers include some simple circuitry to cut battery power loss when the flash is switched off? [I don't have this problem with my other Canon flashes.]
