Actually Pentax is the other brand that does not cheat.
It is perfectly suitable for astrophoto just like Canon.
However this does not mean Nikon is no good for Astrophoto.
here is an example of a man shooting stars with a Nikon :

The results are just impressive.
As usual the photographer is more important than the equipment.
