Surprises in BCN (Japan) sales figures
#1
http://photorumors.com/2017/01/16/2016-b...ategories/

Biggest surprises:

Canon sells more mirrorless cameras than Sony (in Japan).

Sigma sells more lenses than Nikon (in Japan).

Nikon's lens sales share (in Japan) almost halved in the last 7 years.

Sony sold close to zero DSLR/SLTs (in Japan) in 2016 and 2015.

Honestly we are a little baffled about Nikon as well.

We'd certainly like to abandon the D3x for testing but switching to the D810 with its 5(!) years old sensor just doesn't make much sense at this stage.

The D820 (or whatever) is overdue - also with respect from the competition from the 5Ds R and A7R II

I hope Nikon to offer two options for upcoming D8xx, one with high (whatever that will be) resolution and one with lower (25-30mp) resolution.

I don't understand why Nikon isn't doing good when it comes to sales, they have good lenses and a wide range, they have some excellent cameras, yet they don't seem to do well
