Pity they don't breed lenses like that...
Are they breeding (native) lenses at all ?

Tamron's native lenses are changing to the SP label which will leave the older 15-30mm and 24-70mm lying high and dry just for Pentaxians.
Pentax's range of lenses is just stagnating, you can go back decades, still the same old stuff, I felt kinda sad having left the K mount at first, but man am I glad that I did now. They still haven't replaced the plasticy DA*16-50mm F2.8 with it's constantly problematical SDM motor and dated optics, it's the K mount go to quality zoom and the Tamron 17-50 beats it. Unashamedly Pentax never admitted officially to any problems with their SDM motors, if you don't use them regularly they stop working, so much so that they implemented the slower more dated DC motors into the "few" of their recent designs. Pentaxians are gagging in the forums looking for lenses, and Pentax don't give them any.... I just flat out don't understand it!

What are native lenses for Tamron? And the SPlabel has been used for those lenses?

Quote:Are they breeding (native) lenses at all ? Obviously. Unless you believe they only have the 3 Tamrons. And I don't know as a fact that all lenses on the roadmap are Pentax designs, but it's quite clear they can't all be rebadges.

My (now thinner) bank account disagrees - and I'm quite sure there was nothing like the D FA 150-450 "decades" ago. I don't know what happened, but you're not even trying to appear fair.

Yes there was that's the point! Years ago Pentax had a fantastic range of Pro AF* lenses that included the AF* 28-70, AF* 85mm F1.4, AF* 200 F2.8 AF* 300 F2.8, AF* 300 F4.5, AF*400mm F5.6, AF*600mm F4 and the AF* 250-600mm F5.6 and more. These lenses were very good performers and command very high prices today, if you can find them. Just in fact what Pentax users need today, so maybe you thought I was just being unjust, unfortunately all those lenses were discontinued some years back, see these links! https://www.pentaxforums.com/lensreviews...s-c44.html https://www.pentaxforums.com/lensreviews...s-c30.html Unfair? |
